The success of Dynamic Studios is contributed by our amazing D Team – a group of hand picked, dedicated, passionate dancers, performers and teachers that maintain Dynamic Studios being leaders in the dance and performing arts industry.
Chip Lo & Kris Pattagalan
Project Beats is a project founded and run by Alvin Lo (Chip) and Krissan Pattugalan (Kris), for the benefit of the dance scene in Canberra.
Chip & Kris started dancing in the same Hip Hop Crew know as “LOCKDOWN”. They were the leaders of the crew and have been in many competitions and performances such as; Groove Canberra, Battlegrounds International and many more. They were also asked to be one of the judges for ANU School of Performing Arts. In late 2007 they decided to create their own dance company, “Project Beats” and started building and sculpting the Project Beats ways and started performing, choreographing and teaching for Dynamic Studio. In 2010 they began their project and won the Australian Hip Hop Competition in Canberra and in July they were scored the highest in that whole competition in Australia.
Chip and Kris have teamed up with Dynamic Studios, where they will be teaching some of the hip hop classes provided by Dynamic, as well as bringing in more guest teachers from Australia and abroad. They hope to bring Dynamic Studios into the forefront and Canberra’s public eye as one of the leaders in hip-hop dance competitions events and performances. Including a high standard of creative hip-hop choreography, they will be introducing new styles to Dynamic’s repertoire, which will include; Locking, Breakdancing, House Dancing, Popping, Competing Crews, Tutting, etc.
Heidi Pernitsch
Heidi teaches our Saturday Little Stars and Junior Classes. Travelling from Cooma, Heidi makes the weekly trip to come in and be a part of the Dynamic Family. Heidi is a joy of a teacher and prides herself in teaching her students basic ballet technique and age appropriate dance routines. Heidi began dancing when she was 15 taking part in exams and eisteddfods studying the British Ballet Organisation, Modern Jazz. Heidi has also performed in School Spectaculars, Rock Eisteddfods, competed at numerous Australia Wide competitions and was ranked number 1 in Hip Hop in 2006 at the State Dance Championships, A.C.T. Heidi is a Musical Theatre Junkie and don’t be suprised if you see her front row on opening night at any Musical Theatre production that comes to Canberra.
Heidi also owns Canberra Dancewear by Dee and is Canberra’s only mobile dancewear supplier. Passionate about dance and dancewear, Heidi is leading the way in the dancewear industry and Dynamic Studios are proud to have her as a part of their team.
Lincoln Lee (Linx)
Lincoln Lee (Linx) is a member of Canberra’s leading Bboy crew “Floor Pirates”. Linx has been Bboying for many years, he has be in many battles and competitions around Australia such as; OZ Bboy, Shadow wars, DK Battles and many more. In 2009 Linx decided to team up with Project Beats and past down his skills and knowledge to the next generation of Bboys and Bgirls. Linx has a very unique teaching method that he uses to tailor to all age groups. “Floor Pirates” is currently ranked #1 in Breakdancing in Australia. Linx currently teaches BBoys with Olivia and their class continues to grow in popularity as they are a fantastic team.
Melissa Twidale
Melissa started dancing at Dynamic Studios from the age of 9 and has been a part of the Dynamic family ever since. Melissa is trained in Jazz, Lyrical, Singing, Acting, Street & Hip Hop and specialises in all six styles.
Melissa is currently working with the Gold Star Dynamic Dancers and Elusive troupe on developing their dance technique and on Advanced dance routines that are challenging yet enjoyable for the troupes.
Melissa is also the State Event Manager for Hoop Dreams and Founded Groove Canberra and is responsible for bringing Celebrity Choreographers and performers to Canberra including; Rhapsody James – Janet Jackson, Black Thomas – Actor / Dancer in the movies Step Up 2 + 3 and Stomp The Yard. Mel was also responsible for bringing Marco Panzic, Dion Watson, Joel Da Carteret from So You Think You Can Dance. Mel also runs Blindsight and CREW Hip Hop dance, performing arts talents and performing entertainment. Melissa also won a L.A.D.F scholarship and took out the Urban Knockout title in Canada.
Jill O’Donnell
Jill has been dancing since she was 6 years old primarily doing her training with Physical Culture. This has made Jill a very disciplined and technical dancer, performer and instructor. Jill has taken part in performances such as Rock Eisteddfod, Dance Festivals and other performance opportunities. Jill has made the Nationals for Physical Culture for 17 out of 19 years and has been teaching at Dynamic Studios for 4 years. Jill is currently the co-teacher of Dynamic’s Cheerleading class and is working on some amazing routines with the group.
Ben Benedictos
2004 – Present Artistic director of two prestigious Latin dance events in Canberra, Latin Heat and ACT – Salsa state titles
2007 – 2008 Judge: Canberra Celebrity Ballroom Competition
2005 – 2007 Performed and choreographed at the Multi Cultural festival in Canberra
2005 – Choreographed and performed Salsa at Musical theatre in Canberra
2005 – Judge Australian National Salsa Championships
2003 – 2004 Competed at National Dancesport Championships in Canberra and NSW
1998 – Salsa competition in Canberra – achieved first place
